Message From the President

Once again we are nearing the end of another curling season. It has been a rather eventful year in that our curlers were successful in bringing home the Provincial and Canadian Dominion Cup Championship. We are awaiting the banners to honour our championship team and we hope everyone will come out to show their support. Watch the web site for a date once we receive the banners.

I would like to thank all the volunteers throughout the club who give tirelessly to the club. We have had two very good brunches and I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped to make each one a huge success. Volunteers make our club stronger and help to maintain reasonable membership rates. Volunteers take care of Mens, Ladies, Mixed, Senior Leagues, Junior Curling and School Programs, Brunches, Ice and Building Maintenance, Bonspiels and OCA events. A great deal of appreciation also goes to the Board of Directors for their hard work and support making my job much easier.

Our heater and fans have been installed and appear to be working very well in making the area more comfortable and ice conditions improved. There remain a few items which must be dealt with in the near future to ensure the proper maintenance of the facility.

We would like to remind you that our Annual General Meeting is on May 26, 2010. Cocktails start at 6:00p.m. followed with a Roast Beef Dinner at 6:30p.m. and the meeting at 7:30p.m. Cost is just $15.00 so bring out the better half and join us for an evening out. If you need tickets you can get them from John Young at the office or contact any of the board members. Hope to see you there.

John Fantin

Fundraising and Special Events

Your fundraising committee for this year consists of Reg Johnson, Bob O'Neill and Craig Weldon but we will be approaching other club members in the near future to help in our fundraising initiatives.

We are planning 3 Brunches this season, Sunday November 29th 2009, Sunday February 14 2010, and Sunday March 28th 2010. Chef Bob will be back so we again look forward to his wonderful selections with eager anticipation. We will need many helpers for kitchen duty and donations of food to make these events a financial success.

We still have two spots left for advertising signs on the end wall of the ice surface. These valuable spots are only $150 for the year - what a great way to advertise your business to the curling community.

All on ice advertising has been sold out for this season and if you would like your logo added in the future, please contact the club at 519-352-4324 to go on a waiting list.Click here to view all the current advertisers with the Chatham Granite Club >>

There are still spots left on the Brick Wall in the Club entrance and for only $100 you can have your team, an 8-ender, an individual, a group, etc. remembered forever.

You can donate your Bond to the Club in exchange for a Lifetime Social Membership and your name will be engraved on the plaque in the stairwell.
